Amy’s Bike Skills is a FREE 4-week program designed to give you the skills and confidence to ride your bike more often.

PLEASE NOTE: We are opening this up to women who live BEYOND the City of Yarra or Geelong boundaries, (that means pretty much anyone) because we want to fill the programs!

Developed by the Amy Gillett Foundation and delivered by experienced female instructors from Wheel Women, Amy’s Bike Skills teaches safe cycling skills, navigation skills and basic bike maintenance skills.

The program is not suitable for complete beginners and participants are expected to already have some basic riding skills. The program will build on these skills and give you the confidence to ride more.

What you’ll learn

Over 4 weeks, you’ll learn how to:

Start, stop and corner safely
Change gears
Use signals
Ride on paths and quiet roads
Look after your bike and fix a flat tyre
Plan routes, and much more!
Every Amy’s Bike Skills participant receives a free showbag of goodies and a free drink in local cafe during every session.

What you’ll need…

To join Amy’s Bike Skills, you’ll need to:

Commit to the full 4-week program
Own or have access to a bike and helmet
Read the program’s Terms and Conditions and complete a Participant Consent Form, or have parent/guardian permission if under 18
Be happy to complete quick surveys about your riding
Meet any specific program requirements (e.g. be female, be over 50 etc)
