This ride includes a visit to the Tram Museum in Hawthorn. Entry is a gold coin donation. Lots of fun climbing aboard the old trams, looking at the history of trams in Melbourne and lots of opportunities for photos. As we are starting this ride a little later than normal (museum doesn’t open till 11), we will stop for lunch after visiting the museum at a café a couple of kilometres down the road from the museum.
For pink & above riders, we start at East Malvern and follow the Gardiner’s Creek trail to Hawthorn velodrome to meet up with Blue riders. We then continue along the bike path to St Kevin’s boatshed where we hop onto the Main Yarra trail to the Tram Museum. After visiting the museum, we will ride a short distance down the road to our lunch stop before heading back the same way to Hawthorn velodrome and then back to East Malvern station.
This ride is all on bike path & it is relatively flat so should be a great introduction ride for Blue Riders.
Please advise in the comment section whether you’ll be starting at East Malvern or Hawthorn.
