This ride is for both Pink and Magenta riders. The Magenta ride is a long one, 70km, while the pink riders will join us mid-ride and do 20km.
Magenta: Starting at the red crouching monks in Docklands, we’ll ride along the bike paths to Williamstown and Altona where we will pick up our Pink riders. Then we will all head to the excellent boardwalk shared path and visit the wetlands at Point Cook. After this we’re going for our much needed coffee stop at Williams Landing. Our pink riders will catch the train here and Magenta riders will ride home via the Federation Trail, no doubt holding our noses at times. All up the route is 70km.
If you are doing the Magenta ride we ask that you be able to do a Magenta pace (19-24km/h) for the whole time you are riding with us, otherwise it makes it far too long in the saddle for everyone. There are a couple of points where you can either join us later or leave earlier if you are not up to riding 70km at pace. Please contact me (Alicia) so I can give you details.
Level: Magenta
Distance: ~ 70km
Start: Red Crouching Monks, NewQuay Promenade, Docklands, 9am
Bring: pocket snack as it is a long ride before our coffee stop, bike lock, spare tube, lights,
MYKI, full water bottle, money for coffee and cake.
Pink: Your route is a little tricky as you will need to catch trains, but we would really love you to join us. As an incentive I have worked it so that get the best bits – riding in a new area, crossing the boardwalk to visit the wetlands and enjoying the coffee and food stop. Please catch the train which arrives in Altona Station (Werribee Line) at 10:36am and we will meet you there, or you can drive to the station as the train you will be catching back is from Williams Landing and also on the Werribee line.
