Covid-19: ALL riders must be double vaccinated. If you have not already sent us your vaccination certificate, email it to us at: coaching@wheelwomen.com.au.Meeting at the Bert Boardman recreation reserve, we’ll head off on an adventure around the gravel fire roads and tracks of the historic gold mining township of Steiglitz. Expect some long hills and rough gravel roads- the weather this time of year could bring mud, ruts in the roads and corrugations. Mountain bikes or gravel bikes with wider tyres recommended, as are e-bikes (did I mention those hills?!). There’ll be some sections of road riding to link up tracks.
Steiglitz is now known as a ghost town, so hopefully this means nice quiet roads and lots of happy wildlife (and nothing spooky) joining us along the way. There are no local cafes, but plenty of nice picnic spots around the reserve to enjoy something at the end of the ride. Get baking and have the thermos ready!

Distance: Approx. 25km
Start: The Bert Boardman recreation reserve. Near the corner of Steiglitz Road (the main road from Geelong) and S Steiglitz Road. It is well signposted and just past the Steiglitz Cemetery on your left.
